The Listening Room divides a complete run into four sets of five questions. Easy allows 80 seconds per set, medium 70, and hard 60. The countdown waits for the first answer or Cue Hint, stops after the fifth track, and resets before the next crate begins. This structure supports short rounds without forcing one slow opening question to consume the entire twenty-track session.
Needle lives, cues, and streak scoring
Three needle lives last across all four sets. A wrong answer removes one life, deducts forty points, resets the streak, and turns into a muted skipped sleeve. Easy supplies four cue hints, medium three, and hard two for the whole run. A cue briefly outlines the correct answer without selecting it and costs thirty points. Correct choices combine a base award, remaining time, and a growing streak bonus; clearing a set adds another reward based partly on unused seconds.
Pause and restart preserve predictable state
P, Escape, or Pause freezes an active set clock without changing the question, answer order, score, lives, cues, or streak. Resume continues from the same second. R or Restart builds a new question order at the current level, while changing level starts a fresh session with its matching timer and cue supply. The challenge is fully local and single-player, with no account, microphone input, song playback, remote opponent, chat, matchmaking, room code, or background request for trivia.
