On a narrow phone screen, the four enamel answers stack into one touch-friendly column beneath the cream recipe-card question. Each control stays at least 54 pixels tall and includes its letter, complete answer text, and a visible state. Chef's Note and Pause remain full-size actions below the five-step tasting menu, while the compact HUD continues to show course, bite, score, streak, and time without page-level horizontal scrolling.
Feedback works without hover or precision gestures
A correct answer turns sage green before the next bite. A wrong answer flashes tomato red, then remains muted and disabled so the same choice cannot consume a second oven mitt. A chef's note adds a mustard outline to the matching board but still requires a tap. The opaque recipe paper and cream enamel surfaces keep question and answer text readable while the original copper-and-sage kitchen artwork remains behind the interface as atmosphere only.
